He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Hubert and Elizabeth Victoria Friend Sr. (Swetish); his sister Joan; his wife Rosemary Roberts; and his daughter Michele.

He is survived by: his children, Laura Sielaff, Paul, John (Darlene), David (Nancy) and Steven Cheung (Vieng); his grandchildren, Michael (Sarah), Dustin, Jason, Jesse (Verna), Mitchell, Lindsey (Christian), Joseph and Nicholas; and his sister Beth Parker (John). He is also survived by extended family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church (11411 S Lacore Rd, Empire, MI 49630). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
