He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Showers and Ruth Showers (Manning); his son-in-law Robin Edwards; and his brother Jim Showers. He is survived by: his wife Alice Thum; his children, Brad Showers and Kathy Edwards; his grandchildren, Brian Showers (Michelle), Joe Showers (Melissa), Nicole Showers (Darin Johnson), RJ Melinowski, Allison Melinowski, Chris Edwards (Julie) and Sarah Riley (Tim); and his great grandchildren, Addyson, Katie, Miley, Jackson, Isabel, Silas, Abbie and Ava.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Seville Community Church of God.
