He was predeceased by: his parents, John Skaryd and Mamie Skaryd (Kubinger); his brother John Skaryd; his brother-in-law Travis; and his nephews, John and Richard Micka.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Skaryd of Elsie, MI; his children, Robert (Becky Skaryd, Jr.) and Teresa (James Beden); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Skaryd and Shaylyn Coleman (Sawyer); his great grandchildren, Wesley and Hadley Coleman; and his siblings, Gearold (Lena Marie Skaryd), Barbara Galehouse (Norm Martin) and Mary-Sue "Suzie" Travis of DeWitt, MI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elsie Lions Club or Bannister United Methodist Church.
