He was predeceased by: his parents, Irwin Borst and Josephine Borst (Waterous); and his siblings, Darrell Borst, Henry Borst and Carol Ann Borst.

He is survived by: his daughter Leslie Borst; his siblings, Laura Reppenhagen, Eric Borst and Rose Borst; his nieces and nephews, Maggie Jo Borst, Darrell Borst II, Emily Borst, Anna Pruitt (Jeremy), Mickayla Reppenhagen and Allison Reppenhagen; and his siblings-in-law, Dennis Reppenhagen and Naomi Borst.
