He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Karsten and Ann Karsten; and his siblings, Janet, Gerald and Ronald.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Karsten; his children, Alayna Aleo (Joseph) and Kyle Karsten; and his brother William Karsten. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his honor may be made to his grandson's educational future, and contributions can be made payable to Alayna Aleo and sent to the Nelsons Funeral Home, PO Box 1548, Gaylord, MI 49734.
