He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Wesley Shooks and Ruby Shooks (Newland); his wife Irene (Kamper); his children, Lynell J. Miller (Dan) of Grand Rapids, Mitchell R. Shooks (Kay) of Grand Rapids, Gretchen I. Betten (John) of Fort Riley, KS and Melinda G. Tesch (Ramsey) of Grand Rapids; his grandchildren, Clara, Josie, Sadie, Hazel, Wesley, Bethany, Eleanor, Lillian and Michael; and his siblings, Wesley Shooks (Janet), Doug Shooks (Nancy) of Livonia, Dave Shooks (Franessa) of Ellsworth and Carol Martin of Charlevoix. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 24th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hastings Chapel (9268 Main St, Ellsworth, MI 49729). A memorial service was held on Monday, November 25th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Belltower Reformed Church (8033 Church Rd, Ellsworth, MI 49729).
Memorial contributions can be given to the Good Samaritan or the Belltower Reformed Church.
