It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sonya Fortin of Elk Rapids, Michigan, born in Traverse City, Michigan, who passed away on December 2, 2020, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Ruth, John Peterson of Long Island, NY and Madelyn Fortin of Traverse City, MI.. She is survived by: her parents, David Fortin and Joan Fortin (Peterson) of Traverse City; her sister Michelle Casselman (Kevin Erickson) of Maple City; her nieces, Crystal North (Jason), Tammy Jones (Charlie) and April Echavarri (Edward); her aunt Ruth Bendak; her uncle Eugene Peterson of Long Island, NY; her cousin Marcia Fortin of Muskegon; and her friend Dennis VanFleteren of Elk Rapids.
