Dorothy supported local businesses, and flowers would be welcomed at her service or perhaps a donation to the Traverse City Humane Society—the temporary home of at least three of her charges before they were blessed to be adopted by James and her.

“Please accept my belated condolences. I was so sad to find out that Dorothy had passed on my daughter's birthday, this year. Walking through the cemetery at Yuba this weekend and was surprised to see our sweet Dorothy's headstone engraved with 2024. She was a friend of my Mother and a steadfast supporter of the Commission on Aging (COA) and our Meals on Wheels program. It has been my privilege to know Dorothy. She will be missed.
