He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Gares and Catherine Gares (Weinhart); his mother-in-law Ruth Hulliberger (Coville); his siblings, Michael Gares and Barbara Collins; and his siblings-in-law, Robert, Rebekah Hulliberger (Riggle) and Rebecca Cepak.
He is survived by: his wife Margie Gares (Midge Hulliberger); his grandchildren, Tyler Gares, Jonathan Gares, Brianne Gares, Hunter Cobb, Nagangerel Adiyasuren, Charlie Mortensen and Harrison Mortensen; and his siblings-in-law, Michael Collins, Frank Cepak, Jill Decker (Mark) and Jo Allen (Randy). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made in honor of David to the Michigan Honor Flight or the Edmore VFW post.
