He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer and Catherine Roach (Platz); his wife Judy; and his daughter Laura Thomas (John). He is survived by: his children, Cathy Pilbeam (Jeff) of Tecumsah, Gerald Jr. of Eckerman and Dian Welch (Charles) of Eckerman; his grandchildren, Rebecca, John II, Thomas, Wynter Young, Catherine Pilbeam, Joshua and Terra Welch; his great grandchildren, Hunter Kniffen, Morgan Waugh, John III and Thomas; and his sister June Fraley of Marquette. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
