He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Cornell and Gertrude Cornell; and his brothers, Charlie Cornell, Harold Cornell and Wendell Cornell.
He is survived by: his wife Avonelle Cornell; his children, Tony Cornell (April Brywczynski) and Valerie Ward (Jimmie); his grandchildren, Christopher Woods (Christina), Anthony Cornell (Amy), Mariah Cornell, Caleb Brywczynski (Haley), Keenan Brywczynski, Keith Ward (Michelle) and Ray Ward; his great grandchildren, David Alvarado, Rachael Woods, Alex Woods, Gavin Ghandour, Addison Charron, Dameon Charron, Ethan Charron and Kinzley Brywczynski; his siblings, Laurence Cornell (Yvonne), Barb Cornell (Obi Slone), Nancy Hoag, Kitty Cornell and Mark Cornell; and his sister-in-law Judy Cornell. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
