He was predeceased by: his parents, Eliodoro Valadez and Angelita Valadez; and his brothers, Mario and Jose Valadez. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Valadez; his sons, Michael J. Valadez of Eaton Rapids and Anthony Valadez of Grand Ledge; his grandson Diego Valadez of Grand Ledge; his siblings, Carlos Valadez, Jesse Valadez, Valerie and Beatrice Valadez; and his sister-in-law Susan Valadez. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
