He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Sonja Higbie; his mother Helene Katrine Oatley; his daughter Shannon McManus Sharp; his father John Oatley Sr. of Holt; his daughter Melissa "Missy" Scott (Jimmy) of Eaton Rapids; his grandchildren, Travis Burgess (Melissa), Jessie Foley (Steve) of Eaton Rapids, Faith Sharp of Monroe, LA and Brendan Sharp of Eaton Rapids; his great grandchildren, Mick, Silas, Axel, Maggie Mae Foley, Henry and Walt Burgess; and his siblings, Brenda Cuatt (Tom) of Springport, David Oatley of Mason, Brian Oatley (Karen) of Eaton Rapids and Dean Oatley (Carleen). He was also cherished by great father to her two daughters.
