She was predeceased by: her parents, William Beels and Irene Beels (Vanschmelout); her husband John "Jack" Dempsey; her son-in-law Kevin Cowles; and her brother Maurice Beels.
She is survived by: her children, Jeanine Cowles (Brian Drewyor) of Haslett, Jennifer Kerby (Allen) of Eaton Rapids and John Dempsey Jr; her grandchildren, Joshua Cowles (Kellie), Justin Cowles (Alyshia), Krista Kerby (Jake Rhodes), Brandon Kerby and Austin Kerby; her great grandchildren, Cole, Madi and Braylen Cowles; and her brother Walter Beels (Theresa) of Chesterfield.
