Douglas W Moreau Obituary
Douglas W Moreau died peacefully in his home on August 10th, 2020. Preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Moreau and daughter, Pamela Garland. He is survived by his wife Karen Moreau of Eaton Rapids and two sons Michael Moreau of Onaway and Mathew Moreau of Lansing. Doug’s family included 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Doug was born in 1930 in Escanaba MI. A life long UP’er at heart, his childhood was spent roaming the woods, streams and streets of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Doug earned his bachelors Degree from Northern University and his Masters degree from Eastern Michigan University. He and his family moved to Eaton Rapids in 1967. Doug led a life of public service, being a child advocate was his lifelong passion. After his retirement in 1990, he and his wife Karen enjoyed traveling and family, escaping many winters in Texas and Arizona. Doug also enjoyed fly fishing, golf and college sports, especially MSU football, many Saturdays were spent tailgating before the big game. He was a lover of art and beauty, believed in UFO’s, hated Trump, and in later years, an avid reader, sometimes reading three books a week, always wanting to learn more
