He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Oesterling and Sarah Oesterling; and his brother David Oesterling. He is survived by: his wife Sandra "Sandy" Licari Oesterling; his children, Shelly Bird of Milwaukee, WI, Earl Oesterling of Fort Collins, CO and Charlene Oesterling of Knoxville, TN; and his siblings, Howard Oesterling (Betty) of Clinton, MI, Gene Richard Oesterling (Bernadette) of Traverse City, MI and Rebecca Kerns (James) of Trenton, MI. He is also survived by 6 nieces and 3 nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be directed to the Iosco County Historical Society, the Michigan State Police Hardship Fund or the Grace Lutheran Church in East Tawas, MI.
