We are sad to announce that on September 22, 2023, at the age of 79, James Franklin Haakenson of East Lansing, Michigan, born in Mayville, North Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Haakenson and Clara Haakenson; and his siblings, Neil Haakenson and Delores Paulson. He is survived by: his wife Connie Haakenson (Sandbeck); his children, Timothy Haakenson (Jill), Stephen Haakenson (Jennifer) and Christine Haakenson; his grandchildren, Madelyn, Paige, Samuel, Garrett and Benjamin; and his siblings, Dale Haakenson and Nola Satrom. He is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews.

Memorial Contributions in Jim's honor may be made to The American Diabetes Association or St. Luke Lutheran Church.
