With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Lou Wrege of East Lansing, Michigan, born in Saginaw, Michigan, who passed away on December 24, 2023 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Rutherford C. Bechtel and Grace M. Bechtel (Peterson); her former husband Robert C. Suranye; her husband John O. Wrege; and her son Frederick Rutherford Wrege.
She is survived by: her children, Lahna Talbert of Lansing and Erika (Mark Yost); her stepchildren, Jay, Sandy Wright of Connecticut, Alexa and Steve Hargrove of Tennessee; her grandchildren, Jessica Elliott, James, Daniela Vaughn, Alexa Talbert, Mackenzie Talbert (Heriberto Mora), Hope Talbert, Camilla Wilcox, Amy Wright, Kelly Granatek, Steffanie Hargrove and Kelly Sanchez; and her great grandchildren, Caleb Elliott, Mackenzie Jade Elliott, Kayden Vaughn, Anthony Vaughn and Calian Talbert. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Betty Lou's family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Caro American Legion Post #7, or a veterans charity of the donor's choice.
