Jerry Lee Stanbrough Obituary
Jerry Lee Stanbrough, 77, of East Jordan, died on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
He was born on December 14, 1945, in Houston, Texas, the son of Francis Wallace and Georgia Mae (Scherffius) Stanbrough.
He grew up in Houston and graduated from Spring Branch High School, Spring Branch, Texas. In 1968, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Jerry married Suzanne Elizabeth (Anderson) Pawelski on May 24, 1986 in Hinsdale, Illinois.
He worked as a technical writer for Westinghouse Electric Corporation, AAMA/FGIA, DLI and ALI for over 40 years. He also had owned and operated an adv/mtkg agency in Chicago as well as being the "ghost" writer.
He and Suzanne bought property near East Jordan in 1987, and they moved here permanently in 1993.
Jerry was a Texan through and though. He was a fair-weather Dallas Cowboy fan. He enjoyed country music, collecting wine and china. He was an avid reader and book lover.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne E. Stanbrough of East Jordan; son David (Gail) Pawelski of East Jordan; daughter, Kim (Mark) Hejka of East Jordan; two grandchildren, Brandon (Shanel) Hejka of East Jordan and Dustin Hejka of East Jordan; and four great granddaughters, Emily, Gracie, Macie and Janel. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Danielle Marie Pawelski, in 2008.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., East Jordan. Chaplain Carrol "Pete" Aronson, from McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital, will officiate. A private graveside service will be held at Todd Cemetery, Wilson Township, Charlevoix County, Michigan.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 9, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. East Jordan.
