He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Konik and Suzanne Konik. He is survived by: his siblings, Christine Wood (Bob), Andrew Konik (Kat) and Denise Turke; his close friend Sally Hendzell; his nieces and nephews, Amanda (Logan), Sara (Jason), Jonathon, Alexis, Breanna, Chloe, Alex and Max; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Avery, Brooke, Chase, Elise, Lainey and Adalyn; and also, Alexander and Abigail (Devon).

Memorials may be made to The Detroit Zoological Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
