McGowan of East China Township, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on September 30, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas McGowan and Vera McGowan; his wife Joan Nossal; his daughter Sally McGowan; and his siblings, Thomas McGowan, Patricia McGowan, Wallace "Bud" McGowan and Mary Stevens.
He is survived by: his children, Richard M. McGowan, Sheryl Kosinski (Robert), Jill Gray and Kevin McGowan (Mary); his grandchildren, J. P. Rafferty, Kelly Forster (Zachary), Megan Kosinski (Christian Bernardo), Sarah Murphy (Kyle), Bryan Gray and Kathleen McGowan; and his great grandchildren, Aubrey and Violet.
