He was predeceased by: his parents, David Gibson and Alice Gibson (Pruett); and his siblings, Billie, Sue, Donald, Jerri, Mary Donnie, Jean and Artimae.

He is survived by: his wife Joni Cohoon; his sons, Michael Gibson (Shannon) and Matthew Gibson (Janet); his grandchildren, Drew Gibson (Brittany), Lynn, William and Wesley; his siblings, Judy Pidgeon (John) and Marion "Peewee" Gibson (Jackie); his mother-in-law Joan Cohoon; and his brothers-in-law, Wayne Cohoon and Henry Cohoon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a contribution to the Jimmie Gibson Memorial Fund.
