She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Roof and Alfreda Roof (Sheeley); her husband Melvin Smith; her son Barry Smith; and her siblings, Robert, Rich, Clarence, George, Frank Roof Jr., Mary Lou Borucki, Joann Bonkoski and Dorothy Liedel.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara Smith-Byrdak (Michael Byrdak) of Onsted, Gerald Smith (Cheryl Shillair-Smith) of Milan, Eugene Smith (Linda) of North Port, Dennis Smith (Cheryl) of Dundee and Diane Ostrosky (Tim) of Monroe, Michigan; her daughter-in-law Karen Kuhn-Smith; her sisters, Shirley Kocsis (Alex), Rose Lehmann (Paul) and Wilma Hill; and her grandchildren, Cristy Jones (Mike), Michelle Kappelman, Katelyn Landeck (Patrick), Whitney Almanza (Kevin), Haylie Plachta (Jon), Kelsey Scheich (Craig), Jacob Smith, Paige Ostrosky and Jared Smith. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
