He was predeceased by: his parents, Forrest Bowen Harkness and Dorothy Harkness (Alden); his children, Keith Janes and Teresa Harkness; and his siblings, Donald Harkness and Cecila Perch.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Harkness of Dundee; his children, Charles Harkness (Belinda-Jan) of Tecumseh, Dennis Harkness (Kathleen) of Jackson, Ronald Harkness (Aren) of Tecumseh, Randy Janes (Deborah) of Imlay City, Cheryl Holt (Tim) of Cummings, Chris Bezdziecki (Sarah) of Dundee and Jade Perry (Bradford) of Erie, Michigan; and his brother Richard Harkness. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Merkle Funeral Service (297 Tecumseh St, Dundee, MI 48131). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Merkle's.
