He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Phillips and Meribah Phillips (McClung); his daughter Jennifer Kingsley Pittman; and his siblings, Sally Briggs and Jan Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Jean; his children, Barrie M Phillips II (Jane) of Bloomington, Indiana, Gail Phillips of Kalamazoo and Elizabeth Phillips of Drummond Island; his son-in-law Brett Pittman of Kalamazoo; his grandchildren, Jenna Phillips, Hannah Pittman, Benjamin Phillips and Gavin Pittman; his sister-in-law Carol Phillips of Union City, Tennessee; his sister Susie Wittman (Dan); his brother-in-law Mel Briggs; and his brother Pete May (Sarah) of Jackson, Michigan..
