She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Spencer and Florence Spencer; her former husband Don Carter; her husband Arthur John Walawender; her children, Kandy Carter and Don; her daughter-in-law Brenda Carter; her son Robert Carter; her grandsons, Greg Carter and David Carter; her brothers, Charles Spencer and Harold Spencer; her parents-in-law, Clarence and Ruth Carter; her brother-in-law Gene Carter; her brother Ken; and her sister-in-law Pat Jessup.
She is survived by: her sister Suzanne Newton (Dale) of Dowagiac; her niece Kristy Blakemore (Ken) of Dowagiac; her great-nephews, Zachary of Dowagiac and Devin Stattler of Dowagiac; her daughter-in-law Trina Carter of Decatur; her grandchildren, Robbie Carter of Decatur and Kasie Carter (Ring) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and her sister-in-law Marilyn Carter. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
