He was predeceased by: his wife Joanne Whisenant; his parents, Lloyd Whisenant and Gladys Whisenant (Barnwell); and his brothers, James, William and David Whisenant.
He is survived by: his children, John Whisenant Jr. (Joyce) of St. Joseph, MI and Joanna Haynes (Sean) of Goshen, IN; his grandchildren, Allysa Craig and Christopher Snyder; and his sister Sandy Keoble. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
