He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Peterson and Lillian Peterson (Anderson). He is survived by: his wife Marcella Mead; his children, Glenna Newton (Tim) and Eric Peterson (Dawn); and his sister Ruth Pickens. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions in Harold's name may be directed to First Christian Church, Dowagiac.
