He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Albert Wessendorf, and Virgil Wessendorf, Jr. (Shire); his children, Jonathan Wessendorf (Sisi), Katrina Berres (Dean), Laura Cionca (Jeremy) and Tammy McCarthy; his stepchildren, Larry Whitney (Kim), Michael Whitney (Wendy) and Jennifer Whitney; his siblings, Shirley Wessendorf and William Wessendorf; his close friend Kelly Phillips of Dowagiac; his wife Rosellen Haisch Whitney; and his siblings, Forrest Wessendorf and Jeannie "Gene" Wessendorf. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
