He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Whitmyer and Emma Whitmyer (Vickers); his wife Catherine Richer; and his siblings, James Whitmyer, Paul Whitmyer, Walter Whitmyer, John Whitmyer, Millie Hunsberger, Rose Townsand, Dorothy McClain, Verla McKee, Francis Dorn, Emma Underwood, Evelyn White, Helen Hughs and Bertha Anglemyer.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Whitmyer (Pam) of Dowagiac, Nancy Neff of Dowagiac, Deloris Herman (Keith) of Eau Claire, Phyllis Schmuhl (Michael) of Dowagiac and Linda Whitmyer of Dowagiac; his grandchildren, Mark, Jason, Leslie, Joseph, Travis, Nathan, Heidi and Brian; his great grandchildren, Alexis, Quinn, Landen, Nate, Danielle, Gabrielle, Colt, Jackson, McKenzie, Kylie and Dalton; and his brother Willis Whitmyer of Florida.
