He was predeceased by: his parents, Matilda Helmholdt and John Helmholdt; his grandchildren, Andy Rusticus, Katie Hibma and Jeremy Hibma; and his siblings, Owen, Keith Helmholdt and Avis Helmholdt.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Ann Helmholdt (Roosendaal); and his children, Carlene Cooke (Tom), Doug Helmholdt (Barb), Joan Hibma (Brian), Denise Scholten (Mark) and David Helmholdt (Amanda). He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
