She is survived by: her spouse Gene Gilbert; her children, Ryan Gilbert of DeWitt, MI and Rene Gilbert of Dimondale, MI; her brothers, Warren Pierce (Gaylene) of Wichita, KS and Larry Pierce (Sandra) of Emporia, KS; her nieces, Vicki Ward, Lori Kutter, Robbi Pierce-Sawyers and Leisa Albers; her nephew Brent Pierce; her grandchildren, Devonte Edward Ewing of Dimondale, MI and Danielle Maurine Ewing of Dimondale, MI; her close friends, Christopher Hennigan, Amanda Brickner, Mary Minor and Carl Ockert; and her pet Izzy.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, The Humane Society, or The American Diabetes Association, in lieu of flowers.
