He was predeceased by: his parents, David Barens and Elizabeth "Bessie" Barens (Steele); his siblings, Joseph (Joyce Bush), Charles Barens, Dorothy (Stan Eckley) and Sally Ceccacci (Lou); his brother-in-law Homer Shute; his in-laws, Fay and Rosetta "Etta" Thomas (Rader); and his son-in-law Mark Zweidinger.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Rae (Thomas); his sister Margaret Shute; his sister-in-law Barbara Barens (Leville); and his nieces and nephews, Dan Barens (Laura Antonelli), Carrilee Hoose (Shane), Dennis Barens (Yvonne Matthyssen) and Melanie Zweidinger. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and their spouses, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Skinner Funeral Home - Eaton Rapids Chapel (315 S River St, Eaton Rapids, MI 48827). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
