Cornils of Dexter, Michigan, born in Sioux City, Iowa, who passed away on July 6, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Cornils and Mabel Cornils (Lighthall); his wife Mary; his daughter Carol Frances Cornils; his sisters, Connie Andersen and Nancee Luebbert; his stepfather Lloyd Savage; and his son-in-law Terry Edwards.
He is survived by: his children, James, Jr. of Dexter, Allison Edwards of Ann Arbor, Peter Cornils (Pauline) of Battle Creek, Patrick (Leslie Robles) and Steven (Rebecca Biederman) of Portland, OR.; and his grandchildren, Alex Edwards (Adrian Griffin) of Lakewood, OH, Tristan Edwards of Alamo, NV, Camille Cornils (Toby Bove) of Chicago, Miles Cornils of Battle Creek and Daniel Cornils of Portland.
Memorial Contributions may be made to either St. Joseph Catholic Church (3430 Dover St, Dexter), the Dexter Knights of Columbus, or the Encore Musical Theater (Dexter).
