He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon C. Briggs and Geraldine Briggs (Weber). He is survived by: his wife Theresa Wright; his children, Jennifer Briggs and Ryan Briggs (Michelle); his siblings, Gordon Jr. (Sue), Glenn (Jennifer), Gail, Gary (Nancy) and Gina Seery (Jim); and his grandchildren, Lauren, Nick, Jillian, Joe, Jack and Janine. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family plans to create a scholarship fund that benefits students pursuing a career in the building trades.
