She was predeceased by: her husband Stanley A. Purvis, Sr.; her parents, Elaine M. Walje and William A. Walje Sr.; and her siblings, William A. Walje, Jr., Evelyn Womble, Rita Wallje, Winona Whitely, Janice Edwards, Naomi Wallje and Delores Sikes.

She is survived by: her children, Tina LaPorte, Stanley Purvis Jr. (Becky Poe), Lori Brown (Joel) and Steven Purvis (Cindy Mikula); and her sister Mildred Wright. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
