He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Laverne and Doris Aletha Lord (Cummings); his sister Mary Ann Lord; and his great-niece Kaitlyn Smith. He is survived by: his daughter Tricia; his pet Oreo; his children, Tammy Balyo, Tim (Esther Lord) and Trish (Anthony Rodebaugh); his significant other Nancy Connor; his grandchildren, Amber Lord, Justin Balyo, Alyssa Johnston, Alexis Lord, Ashley Lord, Kayla Kauffman, Andrea Lord, Tim Lord and Teagan Rummelt; and his sister Sue Ann (Craig Smith). He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children or American Cancer Society.
