Gene V. Sample Sr. Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene V. Sample Sr. (Dewitt, Michigan), born in Lansing, Michigan, who passed away on March 17, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Sample and Mildred Sample (McCune); his sisters, June Minier, Evalle Church and Vivian Graham; his grandchildren, Gene Sample, III and Jay D "Buck" Sample, II; and his pet Jenny.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Sample (Kell); his children, Gene Sample, Jr., Jay D Sample (Vickie), Patrick Sample, Sherri Sample and Lori Stornant (Mark); his grandchildren, Nikki Malag (Kenneth), Jason Sample, Tina Kisor (Jacob), James Dietz (Kristin), Tyler Stornant (Grace), Casey Thornton (Corey), Bailey Bradshaw (Treston) and Brooklyn Dunfield; his great grandchildren, Heaven Kisor, Raquel Kisor, Osheeanna Kisor, Aaron Sample, Jay Daniel Sample, Aliza Sample, Shayden Sample, Keegan Sample, Joseph Malag, Jared Malag, Matthew Malag, Nicole Malag, Arianna Dietz, Lydia Dietz and Lincoln Gene Thornton; his brother Lyle Sample (Lorraine); his uncle Howard McCune; and his close friend Mel Carter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
Memorial contributions, in loving memory of Gene, may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society or the D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans).
