It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doretta Sue Coon (Dewitt, Michigan), born in Lansing, Michigan, who passed away on October 30, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Milton Coon; and her siblings, Ardith Sheldon, Mary Ann Mulvihill and Jacqueline "Jackie" Smith. She is survived by: her children, Michael Hagerman, Lisa Hagerman and Mark Hagerman (Heather); her stepchildren, Steven Coon (Kristen) and Susan Piccarello (Joe); her sisters, Pam Mulvihill-Silva, Julie Thom and Gloria Pumfrey; and her close friend Marilyn Lane (Lanny Dittmer). She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes (205 E Washington St, DeWitt, MI 48820). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Fort Custer National Cemetery (15501 W Dickman Rd, Augusta, MI 49012).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Sue can be made to Elara Caring Hospice or the American Cancer Society, organizations that were close to her heart.
