She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Brown and Elsie Brown; her husband George Van Buren; her son F. Clark Van Buren; her grandson Steven Thelen; and her sisters, Betty Louise Linton and Mary Sue Malone.

She is survived by: her children, Kurt Van Buren (Jeanne), Beth Ann Thelen (Steve), Mark Van Buren (Tonya), Scot Van Buren and George Van Buren; her grandchildren, Rebecca Childress (Justin), Sara Thelen, Erica Van Buren and Joel Van Buren; her great grandchildren, Nolan Childress, Declan Childress and Isla Childress; and her daughter-in-law Sherrie Van Buren.
