With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rick Backus (Detroit, Michigan), who passed away on April 22, 2018 at the age of 64. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Charles; and his brother-in-law Bob Gafford. He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his mother Annamae; his children, Carrie Alcorn (Mark), Erin Burdziak (Dennis) and Nathan Backus (Angelique); his grandchildren, Nicholas, Annabelle, Timothy, Alexander, Matthew, Andrew and Aiden; his siblings, Linda Otte (Bob) and Chuck Backus (Peggy); and also, Neal Gafford and Betty Gafford. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
