With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Irene C. Stepien of Detroit, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 15, 2025 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Adam Butryn and Anna Butryn; her spouse Ludwik T. Stepien; her brother Henryk; and her son-in-law Alan Stranyak.
She is survived by: her children, John Stepien (Carol), Barbara Stranyak (Alan), Christopher Stepien (Ellen) and Mark Stepien (Susan); her siblings, Jozefa Butryn, Czesław, Adam and Stephanie Butryn; her grandchildren, Kimberly Stanco (Nick), Jennifer Munton (Jay), Rebecca Tarr (Roger), Danielle Wright (Brian), Kristen Smith (David), Lisa Emil (Brett), Alexander Stepien (Lauren), Michael Stepien, Krystina Stepien, Angelika Cooper (Christian) and Sylvia Stepien; her great grandchildren, Garrett, Evan Munton, Kyle, Emily O'Brien, Samuel Tarr, Brendan, Dylan, Madelyn Wright, Joseph, Abigail, Kathryn, Samantha, Lucas Smith, Elliot, Julian Emil, Quinn, Blake Stepien and Luke Cooper; and her sister-in-law Bronislawa (late Henryk Butryn). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
