He is survived by: his spouse Jearlene Griffin-Smereck; his children, Dwayne Lofton (Mya), Mimi Griffin (Mark), Joseph Smereck (DePresha) and Jalen Smereck; his grandchildren, Kyla, Leah, Nia, Bruce, Julian, Jaleya, Jaisley and Nova; and his sister Dr. Susan Smereck, MD (Hamid Mohammadi).
