She was predeceased by: her parents, J. D. Lindsey and Josephine Franklin Lindsey; her husbands, Johnnie Bonney, Sr. and Steven Brown; her son Johnnie Bonney Jr.; and her siblings, Fred Lindsey, Celestine Curry, Lucille Wells, J. C. Lindsey, James Lindsey and Raynell Lindsey.

She is survived by: her brother-in-law Kingzelle Stallworth; her children, Ellen Gwendolyn Bonney, Carolyn Andrews (Bevin) and Frank Bonney (Jacqueline); her siblings, Willa Rankins, Helen Stallworth, Doris Crosby, Yvonne Ware (Robert) and Marion Lindsey (Ann); and her grandchildren, Shomari Andrews, Karamoko Andrews, Zakiya Lakhanpal, Shavon Bonney, Isis Bonney and Tasheena Johnson. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
