He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard L. Smith and Viola M. Smith (Brock); and his siblings, Allen, Larry, Lloyd and Nancy Perro.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Smith; and his children, Raymond Smith Jr. (Starlene), Cynthia Cassady (Steven), Dan Smith (Mindi) and Bonnie Smith (Ed). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
