She was predeceased by: her parents, Merten Gillett and Stella Gillett (Thomson); her daughter Deborah A. Hamilton; her granddaughter April Birman; and her siblings, Cora Barlond, Lois Bennett, Lawrence Thomson, David Thomson and Marie Gray.
She is survived by: her children, David Payne (Laurel) of Athens, Shirley Zeeryp (Doug) of Bellevue, Keith Payne of Delton, Tracy Payne (Chuckie Grandstaff) of Battle Creek, Brenda Criagmyle of Battle Creek, Cory Bowler (Tonya Raymor) of Delton and Cara Bowler of Athens, Michigan; and her sister Virgina Shifflett. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren.
