She is survived by: her parents, Cornelius Hagens of Essexville and Teresa Hagens of Essexville; her husband Richard Avitabile of Midland; her children, Carol Votaw (Scott) of Rochester Hills, Susan Huschke (Mark) of Eden Prairie and Mark Avitabile (Kristin) of Durham, N. C.; her grandchildren, Jean Hoyer (Votaw), Sarah Votaw, Elizabeth, Adrienne, Daniel Huschke and Lucy Avitabile; and also Dow Chemical.

Flowers or donations to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, St. Joseph's Indian School or the St. Labre Indian School may be made in memory of Elaine.
