He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter McVittie and Marion [Delong] McVittie; his daughter June; his brother Arnold; his sister-in-law Sally McVittie; his brother Jim; and his siblings-in-law, Deanna McVittie, Debbie James and Jim Laskowski.
He is survived by: his wife Rhoda McVittie; his children, Michael McVittie of Midland, Samantha Pasztor (Chris) of Redford, Caroline Cahoon of Grand Rapids and Sarah Rice (Steve) of Zeeland; his grandchildren, Zachary McVittie (Madyson), Alina McVittie, Alex McVittie, Cody McVittie, Gabrielle Pasztor, Andrew Pasztor, Katelyn Rice and Michaela Rice; his sister Kathy Lee (Bob); and his siblings-in-law, Naomi Laskowski, David Thompson (Sherry), Vernon Thompson, Julie Williams (Brian) and Roger Thompson (Pamela). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
