He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Klaus and Evelyn Klaus (Erdman); his grandson Kristopher; his siblings, Ken, Dale, Ron Klaus, Charlotte Fischer and Robert; and his sister-in-law Margaret Parrott.
He is survived by: his significant other Phyllis Nauman; his children, Kurt Klaus of Galveston, Steve Klaus (Carrie) of Port Sanilac and Karin Russell (Tom) of Palms; and his grandchildren, Angela Blowers (Paul), Neil Russell (Natalia), Austin Klaus (Alex), Lily Klaus and Hunter Klaus. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Deckerville Public Library.
