He was predeceased by: his stepfather Reinnier "Red" VanBruggen; his son Robert Barkman, Jr.; his sister Sandra Bennett; and his sister-in-law Sheryl VanBruggen. He is survived by: his wife Ann; his children, James Barkman (Dana) of Oregon, OH and Patricia Weck (Eric) of Delton, MI; his stepchildren, Larry Stafford of Decatur and Ginger Snook (Stafford) of Birmingham, AL; and his siblings, Reinnier VanBruggen of Galesburg, MI, Sadie Payne of Gobles, MI, Betty Peebles (Roger) of Parchment, MI and Barbara Sitar (Tim) of Paw Paw, MI. He is also survived by many grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
